Okuden – Reiki Two

Okuden is a Japanese word meaning “inner teachings.” A deeper understanding of and connection to Usui Mikao’s teachings is achieved during this course. Utilizing Japanese principles, this level teaches how to connect to Earth and Heaven energy, the first steps to becoming fully integrated with the universe. This is achieved through the practice of shirushi (symbols) and jumon (mantras). This level will also support you in becoming a professional Reiki practitioner if that is your interest.

This traditional Japanese Reiki class is for people who have completed Reiki Level One (or more) in any lineage and would like to deepen their personal healing path with Reiki for all species. The Reiki techniques and general principles taught in this class are different from those of Western Reiki that is usually taught in North America. For example, the level two symbols are the same, but their meanings and what they are to be used for are different. In the teachings of the Usui Reiki Ryoho lineage, Reiki is the same regardless of who it is offered to. The class offers an in-depth coverage of traditional Japanese techniques, philosophy and ethics. Topics include the background and elements of the system of Reiki, Okuden techniques, healing treatments, symbols and mantras and their use with humans and animals, and professional considerations. The class follows the traditional Japanese Reiki teachings of Mikao Usui as taught by Frans Stiene of the International House of Reiki and fulfils the Codes of Practice of the Shibumi International Reiki Association. Students will have the opportunity to share Reiki with each other, cats, chickens, plants and trees.
