Memberships

Michelle is a Practitioner/Teacher member of the Shibumi International Reiki Association. The philosophy of this non-profit international organization is to ask its members to adhere to specific criteria that are aligned to the Japanese influences of the system rather than new age influences. Shibumi membership offers community to those dedicated to following the spiritual practices of the system of Reiki from a Japanese perspective. The embodiment of this spiritual practice involves continued self-practice and personal development. Michelle joined Shibumi in 2017.

Cdn-Reiki-AssociationMichelle is a Practitioner member of the Canadian Reiki Association. The CRA is a national non-profit registry of Reiki Practitioners and Teachers that promotes ethical practices and teaching, encourages educational standards, and provides the public with referrals to Registered Practitioners and Teachers. Its goals are to ensure that all members maintain the highest levels of professionalism and abide by the code of ethics to offer a safe and positive environment for clients and students. Michelle has been a CRA member since 2015.

Michelle is a member of the Feline Friends Network of Stratford. This registered Canadian charity provides spay/neuter and educational programs to decrease local cat overpopulation and homelessness. Michelle has been a member and supporter of the Feline Friends Network since 2014.

Past Memberships

Michelle was a Professional member of the Reiki Membership Association of the International Center for Reiki Training. The purpose of the association is to promote the professional practice of Reiki. Professional members have agreed to abide by a Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and have taken Reiki I & II and ART/Master training from a Licensed Reiki Master Teacher. Michelle joined the RMA as a Professional member in 2014. She discontinued RMA membership in 2022.

Michelle was a Teacher/Practitioner member of the Shelter Animal Reiki Association, a non-profit organization that teaches and promotes Animal Reiki through meditation practices. Michelle was a SARA member during 2013 to 2017.

Michelle was an OCR Certified member of the Ontario College of Reflexology during the year 2016-2017.

Volunteering

Michelle has volunteered as an Animal Reiki practitioner at Adopt-a-Pet Pet Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter in Lucknow, Ontario; at Cats Unlimited (retired), a sanctuary for rescued cats in Ethel, Ontario; at several human retirement residences; and at the Wellspring cancer support centre in Stratford, Ontario, where she shared Reiki with human cancer patients, bereaved, caregivers and family members.
