Volunteering as a Reiki Practitioner
Michelle volunteers as an Animal Reiki practitioner at Adopt-a-Pet Pet Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter in Lucknow, Ontario. Since 1998, Adopt-a-Pet has been picking up unclaimed, homeless and discarded animals from pounds and shelters in a large area including Kincardine, London and Cambridge, to save them from being euthanized. The shelter receives no funding and is entirely run by volunteers.
She has also volunteered at Cats Unlimited (retired), a sanctuary for rescued cats in Ethel, Ontario; at several human retirement residences; and at the Wellspring cancer support centre in Stratford, Ontario, where she shared Reiki with human cancer patients, bereaved, caregivers and family members.
